Embodied Arts Introduction

Offering Classes, Workshops and Ritual
in the Somatic-Expressive Arts.

This program is based on the creative exploration and articulation of the body somatically (internally) and expressively (externally). Central to the program is the belief that creative expression is for every-body, and that the art experience can become an integral part of daily life.

The work offered is person-centered and process-oriented, reflecting the collective values of safety, support, encouragement and freedom. Students learn to use the tools of movement, dance, sounding, contact, performance, writing & drawing—these mediums deepen the connection to our body and enable the expression of our aesthetic responses to life.

All of the teachers in the Embodied Arts Program are practicing artists in their fields and are graduates or members of the Tamalpa Institute, an international center for movement-based expressive arts education and therapy co-founded by Anna and Daria Halprin. Teachers bring their individual experience, passion and unique application of the Halprin Life/Art Process to create this diverse program of classes, workshops and community ritual.

No prior experience is required to participate in any of these programs.

Come and explore your artistry, and give body to your life!
