The Institute was founded in 1983 and is located in Berkeley at the Rudramandir Center. Here we offer on-going Awareness Through Movement® classes, individual private Functional Integration® sessions, weekend workshops and Professional Training in The Feldenkrais Method®.

We provide professional training in Somatic Experiencing and outreach to under-served populations and victims of violence, war, and natural disasters.

The Alexander Educational Center

Alexander1The Alexander Educational Center’s mission is to create confident, skillful, working professionals. Upon graduation our trainees have: the essential “hands on skills” needed to convey the Alexander Technique, the teaching skills for presenting the work to various individuals and groups, the confidence that their training has given them a thorough grounding in the Technique, the ability to demonstrate and articulate the essential nature of F. M. Alexander’s work and the mastery needed to practically change a person’s “use.”

Jett Psaris, MBA, PhD

JettPsarisJett Psaris is cofounder of the Conscious Living Center, a counseling and retreat center in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her first book, Undefended Love, was a finalist for the Nautilus Book Award in the category of psychology and consciousness. Jett has been leading workshops about how to inhabit the full spectrum of our humanity for the past 25 years.


East Bay Intl. Association for Near-Death Studies

Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) holds monthly meetings to explore the near-death experience - a personally undeniable encounter with another dimension of existence.  Studies show that NDErs are usually happier then their peers, more compassionate, less materialistic, and without fear of, or belief in, death.  No dogma, no religion, no questions forbidden, all welcome.

Staci Boden and Jill Pettegrew lead 7Directions™ for individuals, women’s circles, private groups, organizations, and weekend retreats.  At Rudramandir, Jill and Staci co-facilitate 7Directions™ Sacred Dance Women's Circles: a five month healing journey that combines dance ceremony with the nourishing power of a women’s group.
